"ALICE IN WONDERLAND"

This is a beautiful carving from the Ukraine.  These are the doors for a chess cabinet which will open to reveal a chess set with Wonderland figurine playing pieces.  Vladimir carved the doors but the table and figures are a joint project by Rusinov, Эpshteyne and Кonyaev.  The wood is Poplar.

This 12' tall White Spruce Viking carving is in the Hecla Grindstone Provincial Park in Manitoba, Canada.  Garth used axes, chisels, a jack plane, scrapers, and rotary tools to carve.  I have displayed this in upper and lower sections for closer visualization but it is a one-piece carving

Yes, this is a normal size flute (#14) carved by Richard in the style of a Haida totem pole.  It is carved from old growth Western Red Cedar and the fetish is carved from Ebony. The flute was set upright on a stand.  This was sent from Puyallup, Washington

Bill sent this from Pembina Valley, Manitoba Canada.  It is carved on MDF (med. density fiberboard) and painted with Bronze and Copper latex model paint to resemble an engraving.  It was then sealed with latex shellac.  I think he successfully obtained the desired effect.

Julia Ives does her carving in Embudo, New Mexico.  The figure on the left is approximately 7 feet tall. That figure and the one on the right are carved from High Altitude Pine.  Figures 2, 3, & 4 are between 2 and 3ft tall and are carved from Red Cedar.  She used Danish Oil, Trewax, Solar-Lux Wood Stains and a wood burner to finish the figures.  Julia used red oil paint to finish the vase atop figure 1.

"FLUTE"

Richard Mazza of Puyallup, WA is sharing another flute with everyone.  It is carved of old growth Alaska White Cedar, the buffalo is bleached curly maple, the horns are of taga nut, the beads are made of Ahoa from Hawaii.  The flute is a double (drone) in the key of "a".  The buffalo of  white curly maple represents one of the 9 remaining white buffalo in existence.
